Being designed to be adjusted "in-place" means the anvils won't need to be taken off multiple times to adjust. Thus decreasing the required time to dial in.

With an easier adjustment, anvils can be dialed in more accurately with less effort. The anvil tolerance can then be tighter, offering more control in the cut.

All of the CET anvils are made in a high nickel steel instead of chrome. The entire anvil is made of this steel, not just the top 0.010" like chrome. So it won't chip and, being a nickel alloy, will harden as it wears. So you'll see more life out of each anvil.
